Pregnancy Therapy

Pregnancy therapy is a tailored treatment designed to support your body through the postural and muscular changes of pregnancy, while also promoting relaxation and wellbeing in a safe environment. During the session, your therapist will use a combination of massage techniques to ease muscle tension, improve circulation, and encourage deep relaxation. Clinical therapy approaches, such as K-taping, may also be incorporated to help relieve common pregnancy discomforts.

What to expect from a pregnancy therapy treatment

  • Initial consultation – Your therapist will discuss your pregnancy journey so far, any areas of concern you may be experiencing as well as setting an outcome goal for the treatment
  • Assessment – If helpful, we may observe posture and movement range as well as palpating areas or concern
  • Treatment – this will be personalised to you needs using a variety of techniques to achieve the desired outcome
  • Aftercare – The therapist will provide you with some movement suggestions that will aid your pregnancy journey

As a rule, it’s often beneficial to increase the frequency of sessions during the later part of the second trimester:

  • Hip & pelvic discomfort – every 2–4 weeks
  • Fluid retention – every 1–2 weeks
